The Feldenkrais Method®

The Feldenkrais Method is recognized for improving posture, flexibility, coordination, athletic and artistic ability, mobility, and our ability to unravel restricted movement. The Feldenkrais Method uses a unique strategy to alleviate symptoms like chronic pain, tension, and stress, as well as addressing neurological, developmental and psychological problems. This sophisticated approach to neuromuscular re-education recognizes our brain's innate capacity to improve the way we move, feel, and think, and perform at a neurological level.

Why does neuromuscular re-education matter?  It means we all have the capacity to break the cycle of accumulating outmoded patterns of moving, thinking, and feeling that progressively lead us to less-than-favorable outcomes like injury, chronic pain, stress, fear, and even hopelessness. We can instead continue to build our repertoire of ways in which we organize to move, think and feel, and abandon a lifetime of corrective measures and unnecessary effort. Things can feel easier, or at least less painful. Students are often amazed at the quick and clear changes that occur through the neuromuscular repatterning that happens after a Feldenkrais session!

How does it work? The Feldenkrais Method is a learning system that utilizes our brains capacity to rewire, to create new neurological pathways (neuroplasticity) through reclaiming our attention in movement.
